“I have done many things in the world… and on top of all that, I still get to sing songs about Love to folks who will listen and perhaps be inspired to leave our world better than we found it. I love my life.”

– Rickie Byars

Our Purpose?

Many in our world are working against the gravitational pull of life’s challenges. How do you stay up? How do you stay present?

Rickie Byars explains that this Revival is an opportunity to Revive, Restore, Reclaim, Re-energize; to rise in God (ultimate good) and remember that our best days are not behind us but are right now! “And singing songs about God will get us out of bed in the morning. Using the vibration of sound to energize and ground will help us to remember that our purpose is to be in the Joy, serve God, and make sure the people in our community are good. Not just that I’m good, but you’re Good! We’re Good! Devotional music encourages us to care for each other and for those who need care. We can sing that, and we can be that.”

Georgia Anne Muldrow is a singer, producer, and songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her father an instrument inventor for Eddie Harris and her mother, the “Godmother” of New Thought music, Rickie Byars, was once a singer with the Pharoah Sanders Ensemble. Still in her teens she relocated to New York where she lived briefly and recorded seven songs for her 2005 self-released EP, “Worthnothings”.

Many in the independent scene first got wind of her after she collaborated with the Platinum Pied Pipers on their much-celebrated debut “Triple P”. After that, she signed with underground heavyweights Stones Throw Records to re-issue her “Worthnothings” EP and release her full-length debut, “Olesi: Fragments Of An Earth”.

Since then, she has had many different collaborative efforts, both independent and mainstream, that have flown under the radar, like her duets with Erykah Badu, “Fly Away” on Sa-Ra’ “Hollywood Recordings” album, and “Master Teacher” on Erykah’ last album, “New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War”. More recently, she produced and sang lead vocals for the song “Roses” from Mos Def’ current album, “The Ecstatic”.

Georgia is also known well for an abstract production and writing style that breaks from normal song structure, as can be seen on most of her previous releases.

How do I get from the Airport to Lake Junaluska?

You have several choices to explore to arrive at Lake Junaluska:

1. Reserving a shuttle. The staff at Lake Junaluska recommends the following company. You can save by getting a group together to share the price.

2. Take an Uber or Lyft. Again, if you are riding with a group, you can split the cost.

3. Rent a car from the Asheville Airport.

4. Use any of the services on the following list from Lake Junaluska:
Lake Junaluska Ground Transportation

Make sure to check “GOING” on our Facebook Event Page https://fb.me/e/49Xx8o1Vy, and connect with others to share a ride from the airport.

Can I Arrive Early or Stay Late at Lake Junaluska?

Yes you can. Just call Reservations directly and ask to extend your reservation for the nights you prefer and you will pay for those nights on your own with your own credit card. The reservations number is 800-222-4930.

Where do I check in when I arrive?

Check-in at the Welcome Center. The address is:
Bethea Welcome Center
91 N Lakeshore Dr, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745.

If you arrive a day or more before the Revival begins, you can check in directly at the Lambuth Inn at the front desk.

If I arrive early or stay late, are there places to eat on site?

The guests staying after or coming earlier will have the option of buying meals at the Terrace Hotel dining room.

Lake Junaluska has two hotels, The Lambuth Inn and The Terrace Hotel. The Revival is being held at the Lambuth Inn. Due to the low capacity at the Lambuth Inn before and after our event, they will not be serving meals in the Lambuth Inn dining room outside of our event.

The Terrace Hotel will have meals you can purchase in their dining room, AND you will need transportation to get from the Lambuth Inn to the Terrace Hotel. If you don’t have a car on-site, you will need to catch a cab or possibly Uber (or you could have a nice workout walk) to the Terrace Hotel.

The two hotels are both at Lake Junaluska and are about 1/2 mile from each other. Also, there is a small cafe and a crepes restaurant on the property, but these are not in the Hotels.

You can also use the following list for transportation:
Lake Junaluska Ground Transportation

How do I check out at 11 am on Sunday when the event does not end until 12pm?

The hotel is extending check-out time to 1 pm on Sunday for our guests. Make sure to plan wisely so you can exit your room by 1 pm.

What activities are available to guests during the free time?

They have golf balls and clubs for mini golf, basketballs, volleyballs, tennis rackets and balls, and other small outdoor games at the Welcome Center front desk. If you are interested in using 1 of the courts for tennis or pickleball, we recommend renting it for the day or half day.

The Welcome Center is where guests check-in and will find all information about the Lake and surrounding places of interest.
